Jason Keirstead
Jason is a longtime open-security leader who has spent years building and scaling threat detection and response capabilities inside large cybersecurity platforms. Jason is a worldwide recognized thought-leader in threat management, collective defense, and open-standards, and has worked in executive roles from the world’s largest technology companies to some of the most dynamic start-ups, in areas including cybersecurity, AI-driven security strategy, and governance.
Jason is an IBM Distinguished Engineer and was worldwide CTO of Threat Management at IBM, where he helped modernize SIEM, SOAR, XDR, and threat intelligence at global scale. He also served in executive leadership roles at Cyware and Simbian, helping to modernize collective-defense among ISACs and ISAOs worldwide, and advancing AI-SOC technology. Jason co-founded the Open Cybersecurity Alliance and chaired the organization for five years, working to accelerate adoption of open standards in cybersecurity. A past board member of OASIS Open, Jason has also served in key contributor and leadership roles in organizations such as FIRST.ORG, the MITRE Center for Threat-Informed Defense, the Open-Source Security Foundation, the Open Cybersecurity Schema Format, and the Cloud Security Alliance. Jason holds CISSP, CISM, and CRISC certifications, and is an OASIS Open Distinguished Contributor. Jason is now the founding CTO at LangGuard.AI, which is enabling CIOs and CISOs to accelerate their AI strategy by governing their AI agents at runtime.
